How do you make the most of the snow? Many of us in the Northern Hemisphere have seen some snow so far this winter, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we have to stop enjoying our horses.

One of my favorite winter activities to watch is skijoring. Skijoring involves a horse and rider towing a skier through a course involving obstacles and jumps as fast as possible. What fun! The Horse had a great article on the sport recently. I’ve never tried it, myself, but I would love to if the opportunity ever presented itself.

I got to go watch some impressive competitors in Heber Valley, Utah, a few years ago. This year’s event is scheduled to take place on February 21-22, 2020. There are many skijoring competitions all over the Western United States, though. I highly recommend going to check it out for yourself. Do you think you and your horse have what it takes?
