March 1st commenced the 2016 Raid Centaure in the Morvan Hills of France. This 36 hour orienteering race offers few opportunities for rest and is a true test of horsemanship and equine athleticism.

The orienteering ride was 107km in distance with 4800m of elevation gain. Moonlight is a great natural resource for these two/three day rides, but the weather was not permitting this time. We encountered rain and snow, among other obstacles, but my good friend Charlotte and I finished in third place. Our equipment was transported in EasyCare Stowaway Packs and my horse’s hooves were protected with Easyboot Gloves. They stayed on between mud, wet rocks, and along steep slopes.
