Here’s the scenario, it’s freezing cold and you need to glue on a pair of Easyboot Glue-Ons. You pull out your gun, load a cartridge of Vettec Adhere and snap, crackle, pop…. guess what? You got nothin’!
Here are some simple tips to keep you gluing successfully through the winter. Remember Adhere, Equi-Pak CS and Sole-Guard all perform best when used at temperatures between 65-85° F.
For conditions below 65° F
• Keep the hoof boots and Adhere warm to avoid dramatically slowing the cure time. If possible have the horse in a warm, dry location.
• Ways to keep the product warm are as simple as storing the cartridges in a heated truck or an insulated “cooler” warmed with microwaveable heat pads or a couple of tightly capped gallon jugs filled with hot water.
• In freezing temperatures, 32° F or less, take extra care to keep hoof boots warm so as to prevent condensation from forming on them which could prevent or interfere with the bond.
As always follow the Glue-on application directions to the letter to ensure your success.
