EasyCare has two new tools for your toolbox!
If your horse needs some heel lift, now you can utilize a wedge for the EasyShoe Race and EasyShoe Roller.
The EasyShoe Race Wedge and EasyShoe Roller Wedge offer 2.5 degrees of heel lift. Simply attach the wedge to the horseshoe using the included screws.
The Race Wedge is designed specifically to fit the EasyShoe Race. The EasyShoe Race is a nail-on/glue-on composite horseshoe with lightweight aluminum racing plates bonded to urethane. Aluminum and urethane are bonded together without any adhesives, eliminating extra weight and height. The EasyShoe Race has integrated frog support by 3D Hoof Care and cuffs for easy gluing. It excels in performance disciplines that require maximum traction including hunter/jumpers, show jumping, eventing, polo, and more.
The Roller Wedge is designed specifically to fit the EasyShoe Roller. The EasyShoe Roller is designed in collaboration with Jim Blurton. The lightweight, aluminum roller is bonded to urethane without using any adhesives, eliminating extra weight and height. The Roller is integrated with 3D Hoof Care frog support and cuffs that make gluing a breeze. The Roller can be nailed or glued. The rolled toe will ease tendon and ligament strain by reducing leverage at the toe. The Roller helps relieve stress on the hoof capsule and makes movement easier on the horse. Ideal for therapy cases or situations where the horse needs more slide.
Sizing is simple. Once you know your horse’s shoe size, then you can match to the corresponding wedge size. The Race Wedge corresponds to the EasyShoe Race sizes, and the Roller Wedge corresponds to the EasyShoe Roller sizes.
Many hoof care professionals utilize wedges for therapy and rehabilitation purposes. Here’s what EasyCare Dealer, Daniel Meegan, has to say about the new wedge.
“EasyCare has just added another tool to the equine industry’s toolbox to help horses. Having the ability to add a wedge pad to the shoes means we can increase the coffin bone angle, thus improving the HPA (hoof pastern angle), all with a polyurethane bar shoe that supports the caudal part of the hoof. Research has shown that negative palmar angles can lead to problems with the navicular bone. My client horses using the wedge are showing great progress with correcting negative palmar angles and giving relief to the DDFT (Deep Digital Flexor Tendon).”
