When traditional shoes are applied, the horse must stand on 3 legs while the shoe is nailed on. This can be incredibly challenging for horses with injuries or chronic lameness who are in pain.

One of the things that sets Glue-On EasyShoes apart is that the horse is able to stand comfortably on all 4 feet while the shoes are applied.

This is more comfortable for all horses, but especially for horses struggling with:

  • Arthritis. Standing on all 4 feet is less stress on joints.
  • Back problems. Standing in an unnatural position can be painful for horses with kissing spine or SI pain.
  • Tendon/ligament injuries or other lower limb injuries. A horse recovering from an injury benefits from standing in a stabilized position. Standing on 3 feet puts more stress on the injured limb.
  • Laminitis. Laminitis is extremely painful and it can be excruciating to stand on 3 feet. Glue-ons make it easier on the horse and safer for the farrier.
  • Navicular. Navicular causes heel pain and soreness. Standing on all 4 feet is much more comfortable for the horse.
  • DSLD (Degenerative Suspensory Ligament Desmitis). Standing on 3 feet and shifting weight onto compromised ligaments can be extremely painful. The horse may struggle to keep their balance on 3 legs due to the dropped fetlocks, and the bending angle and forced balancing can cause pain and trembling. Standing on 4 feet is much more comfortable on ligaments and joints.

Not only is this more comfortable for the horse, but it saves the farrier’s back!

Glue-On Application Process

You can also Plastic Wrap while the horse stands on all 4 feet. Lifting the hoof is optional.

Let the horse stand comfortably while the glue sets.

HoofLox Acrylic 150ml takes about 2 minutes to set. HoofLox Platinum (shown in the video) takes about 4-5 minutes depending on the outside temperature. The warmer it is outside, the faster the glue will set. In the colder weather, it will take longer to set.

After the glue sets up, you can cut the Plastic Wrap off.

Many horse owners report that their horse stands more willing for the farrier with glue-on EasyShoes compared to traditional shoes, often showing signs of relaxation or falling asleep. A more comfortable shoeing experience is easier on the horse, easier on the farrier, and makes for a happy owner!
