Congratulations the recent recipient of the EasyCare Scholarship, Andrea! Andrea’s love for the horse started at a young age and horses have always been a part of her life. She shares what sparked her passion for farriery.
Andrea just graduated from ELPO’s Summer 2024 program! Here’s what she has to say about her experience with ELPO:
“What a CRAZY journey this has been! There were peaks and valleys, lots of bumps and bruises, joy and laughter, and a lot of literal blood, sweat and tears. Forgive me for not sharing my story sooner, but I was scared. Like, really really scared. I wasn’t sure that I could get to the finish line. Going to horseshoeing school was on my radar at 25. Now, at 41, I finally took the leap.
After “punching the clock” on my final day at the ELPO Farrier School, I’m flooded with a mixture of feelings and emotions. I’m so grateful to have gotten the opportunity to ‘show up’ and for chasing the dream after handfuls of setbacks.
Thank you to the instructors and horses that taught me lessons that will last a life time. Thank you so much to everyone that has helped get to the place where I could enroll in the school and those of you at the school that kept me ‘in the fight.’
