Although the Triple D was originally designed as a therapeutic shoe, it transitions beautifully into performance disciplines. The wedge can be reduced or removed with a grinder, allowing farriers to fine-tune mechanics for performance horses. How do I find my horse’s size?
To determine the best size for your horse, please measure the width of the hoof at the widest point and the length of the hoof with the 0 starting at the toe. Our shoes are measured in millimeters to ensure an accurate fit. A snug fit is the key to a successful application. Please utilize our Fitting Assistant or contact us for sizing questions.
The Triple D comes in one elongated pattern that works for both front and hind hooves. To adjust the length, you can take the shoe to a grinder or use a rasp.
Which adhesive do I use with the Triple D?
The Triple D has integrated cuffs designed for gap filling adhesives. You can use any acrylic or urethane adhesive. We recommend HoofLox Platinum, HoofLox Acrylic, or HoofLox Urethane for best results.
If you prefer to use Super Glue, you can purchase the EasyShoe One Mushroom Cuff, which snap into the integrated cuff and provide a smooth surface designed for Super Glue.
Can I add studs for traction?
Yes, you can add EasyCare Quick Studs which are small studs similar to road studs. They are great for snow and ice. You can add Quick Studs using a drill and the Quick Stud Application Tool. The material is too thick to add threaded inserts for 3/8 inch studs.
Can I reset the Triple D?
The Triple D wears very well and it is common to get multiple resets. If the cuffs get damaged during removal, you can heat weld new cuffs on.
Can I add a pour-in pad such as SoftPak?
Yes, you can!
