In 2024, we released a small production run of the EasyShoe Race Light, which is the full urethane version of the EasyShoe Race.

Thanks to your enthusiasm and feedback, we’re excited to officially announce that the EasyShoe Race Light is back and here to stay! If you missed it during its limited release, now’s the perfect time to dive deeper into what makes this shoe so unique.

What Makes the EasyShoe Race Light Unique?

While all EasyShoes are built around principles of flexibility, protection, and performance, the EasyShoe Race Light fills a niche that riders have been looking for: an exceptionally lightweight shoe with excellent grip in the arena and integrated advanced frog support in a full-urethane package.

Let’s break down its key features and why they matter for your horse.

1. Full-Urethane Design

The EasyShoe Race Light is full urethane with no metal inserts, making it one of the lightest shoes in the entire EasyShoe lineup. This encourages the horse to stretch and move out, which is favorable in competitions judged on movement such as hunters and western pleasure.

Despite being lightweight, urethane still offers great durability and shock absorption, supporting healthier joints and connective tissues.

2. Thin Webbing for Superior Traction

The Race Light’s thin webbing allows the horse to sink further into the ground, increasing traction and grip. This is especially beneficial for disciplines requiring speed and torque, such as barrel racing, show jumping, and polo.

This balance of lightness and traction is part of what makes the Race Light feel so close to barefoot—yet with the protection and stability of a performance shoe.

3. Integrated Frog Support by 3D Hoof Care

One of the most exciting features of the Race Light is its built-in frog support, developed with 3D Hoof Care technology.

Benefits of Frog Support:

  • Encourages blood circulation with every footfall.

  • Promotes healthier hoof growth.

  • Enhances shock absorption from the ground up.

  • Supports the natural biomechanical function of the hoof capsule.

A healthy, stimulated frog is central to long-term hoof health, and the Race Light’s integrated support helps promote that with every step.

4. Integrated Cuffs for Adhesive Application

The EasyShoe Race Light has integrated cuffs designed specifically to work with gap-filling adhesives including

Gap filling adhesives are ideal for horses with asymmetrical hoof walls or flares, so cuff design allows the Race Light to fit a wider variety of hoof shapes. The Race Light is a glue-on shoe only, and by minimizing nails, many horses see an improvement in hoof quality over time.

Sizing

The EasyShoe Race Light is currently available in sizes 3-8, which ranges from 114mm up to 142mm wide. Please note that EasyShoes are measured differently than traditional metal shoes. Our shoes are measured very precisely, as a snug fit is crucial for a successful application. Please measure the length and width of your horse’s hoof and utilize our Fitting Assistant to find your size.

The Race Light is designed with extra length and width in the heel. Extra material can be taken away with nippers, rasp, or grinder to match hoof’s length.

The EasyShoe Race Light also offers a 2.5 degree wedge accessory, the EasyShoe Race Wedge. This wedge is designed specifically to fit into the shoe and attaches using screws. This is a great accessory for horses who need a lift in the heel.
