EasyCare recently teamed up with Olympia Farrier Supply in Washington to put on a Glue-On Shoe Clinic. This is the second clinic we have co-hosted in Washington, and it did not disappoint. The Max and Ken at Olympia are fantastic. They have a wonderful shop with everything a farrier may need. Everyone who attends is full of energy and ready to learn.
We started by talking about the diverse EasyShoe Lineup. We talked about the popular Versa Grip Glue and Versa Grip Octo along with the new Speed Lineup. After many questions and comments, we demonstrated applications of the Versa Grip Glue and Versa Grip Octo.
Once I demonstrate how to apply a shoe, I ask for volunteers to apply the remaining shoes. It usually takes a little encouraging to get someone to step up, but at Olympia, we always have eager volunteers. The group always asks insightful questions and gives interesting thoughts on alternative applications and modifications.
We were just about to wrap up for the day when one of the attendees asked about an alternate method of gluing on the Versa Grip Glue. “Can we use Super Glue with the cuff if we remove the outer rim of the cuff and the nubs on the inside?” After a few minutes of collaboration amongst the group, a Dremel was brought out, and the quest to answer the question was on.
The shoes did get applied with Super Glue, but the long term results are yet to be seen. We will hopefully get feedback on the longevity of the application and pass it along in a future blog.
I always enjoy Glue-On Clinics, but the Olympia folks seem to throw in some extra enthusiasm to the mix making for an unbelievable event. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this a wonderful event.
