Q: I have been using my size 1.5 Wide Gloves for the past two years and love them. I just purchased a new pair of Gloves in a size 1.5 Wide, but they don’t seem to fit. Did something change in the shells or sizing?

A: Nothing has changed in the sizing of the shells. A new boot will always seem smaller and more stiff before it is broken in and stretched to fit your horse’s hooves over time.

Just to be safe, though, we always recommend re-measuring your horse’s hooves before purchasing any type of hoof boot, even if your horse has been wearing them for years. Horses’ hooves can gradually change shape over time, and the boots will stretch and conform to the individual horse that wears them. This is why your old Gloves may still fit, but new ones in the same size may not. Here is a blog that goes more in depth on this topic.

Q: The hook and loop system on the Glove Soft Gaiter is not long enough to fit around my horse’s pastern, What can I do to fix this?

A:  We sell a gaiter extension piece that is easy to attach and may give you the extra length needed to secure the gaiter.

Q: I have a horse who loves her Gloves for when we trail ride, but twice now she has ripped the back of the gaiter at the seam. I think it might be an overreach problem. Do you have any tips on how to prevent this?

A:  We suggest putting a simple bell boot on over the Easyboot. You can see orange bell boots over Easyboots pictured here. This will help protect the back seam where the gaiter meets the Glove shell. The hind hooves will glance off of the bell boot, rather than catching that seam.
