Q: Why aren’t all of our hoof boots on the same sizing chart?

A: Many customers have called in to try a new model of Easyboot, only to find that a size #2 of one style does not equal the size #2 in another style. We understand that this can be frustrating.

Believe it or not, there is a good reason we size most of our boots differently. If you compare the hooves of a mule to those of a Thoroughbred, you will find that the mule likely has more narrow hooves. The Thoroughbred may have round, flat feet. It is no surprise that these two hoof shapes will need vastly different boots.

The mule is most likely going to fit best into an Easyboot Epic or an Original Easyboot, because of its narrow width and high heels. An Easyboot Trail or a wide Easyboot Glove Soft would be a good choice for a horse with rounder hooves. Essentially, we are trying to make boots to fit as many unique hoof shapes as we can.

This is another reason why it is extremely important to get good measurements of the length and width of each of your horse’s hooves before ordering a new pair of boots. The more accurately you can pinpoint the appropriate size range, the better the chance that the boots will be a good fit.
