Five of the top ten horses in the AERC National 100-Mile Championship at City of Rocks, Idaho, were ridden in Easyboot Glue-Ons. I had the good fortune to compete in the event on Sunday, September 22 on my horse, Stoner, aka Farrabba, and we snuck in with first place by a little more than a horse length.

It was the perfect course for the use of a hoof protection device that adds traction and shock absorption. There were approximately 30 miles of hard-packed dirt road as part of the course, and the top ten riders had to canter and trot every mile in order to complete the course in as short a time as possible. The first place horse crossed the finish line in just under 11 hours.

The AERC 50-Mile Championship was also a good day for Easyboots: the first three horses to cross the finish line were in Easyboot Glue-Ons. Christoph Schork on Stars A Flame crossed the finish line in 4:44 just one second before Dennis Summers on Hey SoulSister. I crossed the line a minute later on Auli Farwa.

If you want a hoof protection device that protects the entire sole and adds shock absorption, there is little disputing the success Glue-Ons show at the highest levels of endurance competition. One of our Easyboot Facebook friends recently commented that these horses would win, no matter what they were wearing. I beg to differ: there is no other hoof protection device I’d rather have on the horses from my herd than Easyboots.

What would you choose if your goal was to win?

I am responsible for the marketing and branding of the EasyCare product line. I believe there is a great deal to be gained from the strategy of using booted protection for horses, no matter what the job you have for your equine partner.
