We’ve been having a blast at Equine Affaire in Columbus, Ohio over the past couple of days. The booth has been swarmed all day with people wanting to see the Easyboot Glove and hold one for themselves.
There have been many surprises for me here. The best surprise has been to meet so many people whose horses are barefoot. I’m always sure to check with people when they ask about the Glove as to whether or not their horses are shod. It sure seems like more and more people are trying the barefoot thing – and having great success with it.
We are involved in two presentations today. Laura Hayes, Vice President of AERC, and Mark McConnon, DVM, gave a presentation about vetting a horse at an endurance ride. They used Bill Taylor’s horse, James. Miriam Rezine spoke about the Easyboot line up and how to measure and fit boots to the horse’s feet. There were some great questions from the audience, too.
This afternoon we’ve had lots of people come by who wanted to talk about a variety of subjects including low starch diets for the barefoot horse, the paddock paradise, how to measure for Easyboots, the benefits of shoes versus boots, etc. We’ve even had some visits from farriers who wanted to know more about the boots (and one who said his own horses are all barefoot).
This afternoon Laura and Mark are doing another presentation and we will be doing a Glue-On demonstration.
