Do You Know Jack?

Hoofjack® that is! Hoof care professionals around the world choose this popular green, hoof stand to aid in their work. The clever tool was designed by former farrier, Kevin Keeler out of his own personal need with a knee injury. The result is the tried and true stand you so commonly see today. This back saving, hoof support system has never been more popular. Kevin and his wife Dawn operate Equine Innovations in New Plymouth, ID offering a range of Hoofjack® and Tooljack® options.

Hoof care professionals just seem wired for tinkering and modifying. Sometimes things just seem to work better with a little personalized-customization so to speak. Hoof Care practitioner Mark Rudenborg from Indiana is no exception. An ex machinist, Mark often thought he would use the peg on his hoof stand more frequently if only he had a better way to keep it close at hand. The tinkering began and with a few hours of shop time, voila! Check out the photos below for Mark's slick modification and solution to his dilemma.

What trimming tools have you modified to better suit your needs? Do you have a helpful tool modification you could share? Please email admin@easycareinc.com, attention Debbie Schwiebert. Let's keep these ideas coming!
